The historical Union County Courthouse was built in 1899. In 1976, the Union County Historical Society organized restoration of the building including the clock tower which had been removed in the 50's. Read more at the Historical Society website.

Lake Nottely provides great outdoor fun. The 4,180 acre body of water has a 106 mile shoreline. Recreation areas provide opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, picnicking, and camping.

Butternut Creek Golf Course provides a challenging 18 hole game. Golfers come from all over to play on the mountain championship course.

Brasstown Bald Mountain and Visitor Center provides a spectacular 360 degree view of four states. At 4,784 feet, the peak is the highest point in Georgia.

Vogel State Park is one of Georgia's most popular state parks. Facilities include rental cabins, camping sites, country store, 20 acre lake, swimming beach, pedal boats, and picnic areas.

Helton Creek Falls is set deep in a hardwood forest. The total vertical drop is more than 100 feet. A 300 yard trail leads visitors to the falls.
